Searching for motivated, well-trained recruits for your specific job-fulfillment needs? Look no further. CHAC’s Employer Outreach Initiative focuses on the human resource needs of Chicagoland employers by providing job-ready candidates, employment recruiting sessions, a job listing service, and job fair—all at no cost to the employer.

Job-ready candidates are supplied from a pool of the most motivated of CHAC clients, the more than 1,500 participants in the Family Self-Sufficiency Program. FSS provides skills assessment testing and has partnered with a variety of training programs that offer clerical, technical, nursing, and other skills. Once FSS employment development specialists assess the participant’s skills, training, and experience, they connect the participant with appropriate education and training programs. Monthly job meetings are held that offer workshops on topics such as customer service, career advancement and job retention.
 
FSS participants are highly motivated individuals who are required to obtain employment in order to graduate from the five-year program. FSS is an award-winning program that enables participants to transition from financial dependency to financial autonomy from government programs. Because FSS participants also receive funds into an escrow account, they are motivated to do well and achieve success.

When you choose to work with FSS, an employment development specialist will work with you directly to qualify your needs. Whatever your staffing requirements, we can assist you—from entry-level service, clerical, and administrative positions to highly skilled technical, managerial, and manufacturing. Our participants range from those working on their GED’s to college graduates with advanced degrees.

Our free employment services include

  1. Free recruitment sessions—we schedule private recruitment sessions for employers with several openings. Our employment specialists will team with your recruiter to design a session to meet your particular needs. Job recruitment sessions may be scheduled at any time throughout the year.
  2. Free job postings—our job bank is available for listing open positions at no charge to you.
  3. Free job fair—FSS hosts a job fair that is free to employers. You can accept resumes, conduct interviews, and even hire on the spot.

CHAC’s Employer Outreach Initiative is an example of public and private organizations working together to meet a vital need of Chicagoland communities.
